The FTB-7000D OTDR takes metro, access
and FTTH network testing to the next
level. Its exceptional 1 m event dead
zone lets you characterize all events
between the transmitter and the central
office's fiber distribution panel.
This module features a highly efficient,
lightning-fast trace acquisition
routine, as full averaging is performed
in 45 seconds. Thanks to next-generation
OTDR software, the FTB-7000D enables you
to test through high-port-count
splitters-even 1 x 32 splitters-perfect
for passive optical network (PON)
testing. The FTB-7000D OTDR offers
triple-wavelength configurations, with a
choice of wavelengths: 1310/1490/1550
nm, or 1310/1550/1625 nm.
Like all EXFO OTDR modules, the
FTB-7000D is housed in either of EXFO's
portable test platforms, the FTB-400
Universal Test System or the
OTDR-dedicated FTB-100B Mini-OTDR.
An FTTx Test Solution
This product is part of EXFO's series of
FTTx-compliant optical test products. It
allows for the testing of passive
optical networks (PONs) at the three
main wavelengths (1310, 1490 and 1550
nm) recommended by the ITU-T (G.983.3)
for use in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and
fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks.
